Plant Manager – Manufacturing Operations in Thomasville GA

To oversee the production operations of a manufacturing plant for a large affiliate equipment company. Manufacturing experience required; trailer manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.  To ensure production efficiency and adherence to SOP’S, budgets, and dispatch times. Set objectives and schedules, supervise the use of funds, address issues and concerns, conduct assessments, evaluations, and develop strategies to meet production goals. Lead production supervisory staff while implementing the company's safety policies and regulations ensuring safe operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Overseeing purchasing and supply chain management 

Operate and safely maintain production of a trailer manufacturing plant.
Manage and provide leadership to all personnel onsite
Assign job tasks to plant supervision according to business requirements
Analyze production schedules to run efficiently as possible
Ensure quality of product is maintained at a high level and in accordance to company policy and regulations.
Adjust resources to meet production schedules through capacity planning and machine utilization.
Implement measures to improve production methods
Ensure all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported immediately.

Maintain production records

WORK Environment

·  60% of the time in an office setting (i.e. desk/computer station.)
·  40% of the time within a non-climate controlled environment (i.e. warm in summer, cool in winter). Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment (i.e. hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and safety shoes).

·  May receive calls during non-work hours
·  Forklift license – May need to assist in floor operations in periods of short staffing or special projects.

Job Requirements:
Manufacturing experience required; trailer manufacturing experience preferred, but not required

BS degree preferred or previous experience in a supervisory role of more than 10 production personnel in an industrial environment.
Self-starter with strong leadership and team building skills.
Decision making to execute company policies and implement plant procedures.
Organizational skills to maintain safety, quality, and equipment system files.
Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to complete detailed reports and make presentations.
Understanding of financial reports.
High level math skills to create formulas and spreadsheets for budgets, cost control, and inventory.
Proficient with computer systems and software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
Exhibits problem solving skills able to use root cause analysis tools
Familiar with Lean/Continuous improvement processes
Familiar with load dispatch and load completion metrics
Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to function in Non-climate controlled environment
