Lead Fabricator

We are looking for a technically skilled candidate with good attention to detail for the position of Lead Fabricator. The successful candidate will have highly developed experience in welding, jig and fixture design, cutting and forming of carbon steels.  This is a supervisory position and part of a team which will develop manufacturing processes

Job Duties:

  • Reading and understanding product drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Actively participating in product design reviews to improve the manufacturability of products.
  • Working with other team members to develop best practices for the production of individual parts, subassemblies and finished products including proper sequence of operations, estimation of production times, process flow (from part level to subassemblies to finished goods).
  • Determining proper welding methods and parameters including gasses and wire for MIG welding.
  • Defining quality control standards.
  • Testing products for their functionality.
  • Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls.
  • Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.
  • Adhering to assembly safety standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Specialized certification preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience highly desired
  • Proficiency in MIG, sheet and plate forming, plasma cutting, punching operations (robotic MIG preferred).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Working understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • High-level of understanding of wet and powder coating is highly desired.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Degree required
