CHEF

POSITION SUMMARY

Manages daily operations of a small private steakhouse style restaurant, provides leadership and direction to personnel, ensures all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the owner’s specifications and commitment to quality. Full Time position with benefits provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Creates southern and steakhouse type menu and prepares meals

· Manage relationships with distributors and resolve issues with vendors promptly

· Follows established budget guidelines

· Ensures food safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen

· Manages staff and tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food in a timely fashion

· Maintains the schedule for kitchen staff

· Monitors food and labor costs in the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize waste.

· Checks all culinary equipment and sets them up for daily use. Keeps kitchen, dishes, and storage areas clean and organized.

· Follows and enforces all applicable safety procedures specified for kitchen and food services areas.

· Maintains a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities.

Job Requirements:

· Ability to work a full-time schedule

· Special events as needed

· 3 years as a Chef, Culinary Manager or Kitchen Manager required

· Polished casual, upscale or fine dining experience preferred

· Food cost, labor cost, waste management experience

· High School or equivalent, Culinary degree preferred, but not required

· Clean Driver’s license

· References required
