Ag-Pro is happy to announce a multi-year partnership with NASCAR’s biggest track, the Talladega Superspeedway. Ag-Pro will supply Talladega with tractors to maintain its facility year-round and the nearly 3,000 acres of property that comes with it.
In September 1969, the Superspeedway officially opened its doors for its very first race, although it was opened under a different name: Alabama International Motor Speedway. Crews had set out to build the biggest and fastest track in the world and, since then, the track has exceeded all expectations in terms of size, speed and competition.
“Ag-Pro Companies is very excited to partner with the Talladega Superspeedway,” said Ag-Pro Chief Operating Officer Matthew Carlton. “The Talladega Superspeedway is an iconic event venue drawing crowds from all over the nation to enjoy the races. We are proud to provide the very best in John Deere equipment so the Talladega grounds team can provide the very best experience when race fans arrive.”
The John Deere tractors Ag-Pro is providing will be put to hard work around the Talladega grounds. With about 1,400 acres of grassy land, it usually takes grounds crews one week to cut the grass before race day. When the tractors aren’t busy cutting grass, they’ll be transporting fans from the campgrounds and parking areas to the race track.
Next year, Talladega will invest $50 million to redevelop the historic infield in order to offer new attractions and better amenities for fans, sponsors, teams and stakeholders. Learn all about the 2019 infield project here.

It’s officially 2019—new year, new you, new crops, new projects—and hopefully a fresh new start for your equipment, too! It’s always good to keep up with maintenance on all your equipment, but we encourage you to take some extra time at the start of the new year to thoroughly check everything for any potential issues that could affect you in coming months.
